What are some things I should not do after a fire? In a fire, do not dispose of your personal property without photographing and preparing an inventory of your total loss and be sure to speak with your insurance adjuster prior to disposing of any items. What should I do during or after water or flood damage? Water from any type of flood may cause mold growth within 24 hours. Be sure to consult a professional conservator before freezing any photos.
